1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site remember something between pages or between visits — that you have dismissed a banner, for instance. This policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage, which works the same way from your point of view.
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how Copper Bluffs Hospitality Ltd handles personal information generally under the Privacy Act 2020.
2. Your choice
When you first arrive at copperbluffs.com you are shown a banner with three options:
- Accept All — essential, analytics and marketing categories are enabled.
- Reject All — only the essential category is enabled. Nothing optional is set.
- Cookie Settings — choose category by category and save.
Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories is set before you choose. Rejecting everything optional does not degrade the site: every page, form and image works exactly the same.
Your choice is remembered on your own device. To change it, clear your browser storage for this site and reload the page; the banner will appear again.
3. What this site sets
Essential — always on
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They store nothing that identifies you and are not shared with anyone.

Both are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as traditional cookies, which means they stay on your device and are never transmitted to our server.
Analytics — only with consent
Used to understand which pages people read and where they give up, so we can fix the site rather than guess at it. Data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individuals.

Marketing — only with consent
Used to measure whether our own seasonal campaigns actually bring anyone to the site. We do not run third-party advertising on copperbluffs.com and we do not sell audience data.

4. Third-party content
Our contact page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap so you can see where the hotel is. When that map loads, OpenStreetMap receives your IP address and basic browser information, as any web request involves. We do not control what they do with it — see the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Apart from that map, this website loads no third-party scripts, no advertising networks, no social media pixels and no tracking tags. Fonts, stylesheets, scripts and images are all served from our own domain.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of the banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data:
- Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies / Site data
- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Blocking everything will mean the age verification and the cookie banner reappear on every page, because the record of your answer is the thing being blocked. That is a limitation of the browser setting, not a fault on the site.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it. We treat a Do Not Track signal as a rejection of the analytics and marketing categories.
7. Changes
If we add or remove anything, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. Where a change materially affects what we store, the consent banner is shown again so you can make a fresh choice.
